12 breast pumps found in arrest
Pinellas sheriff's deputies say they have arrested a serial breast pump thief.
Ray Edward Chapa, 55, of Hallandale Beach was arrested June 20 on charges the he stole multiple breast pumps from the Target at 4450 Park St. N, near St. Petersburg.
Deputies said Chapa switched price tags on $400 breast pumps so that he paid only $30 for them. They suspect he stole several from local Targets and Walmarts, arrest reports state.
"It should be noted that during his arrest (Chapa) had 12 breast pumps in his vehicle from several different stores," arrest reports state.
Chapa is facing charges of grand theft and felony retail theft.
Burglar accused of nude drinking
A homeless man was arrested recently on charges that he broke into a St. Petersburg home and drank the owner's alcohol.
Arrest reports indicate Justin David Garrett, 36, was naked when he was found inside the home in the 100 block of NW Jefferson Circle N on June 28.
Garrett is facing a burglary charge.
Yet another thirsty burglar
Pinellas sheriff's deputies say they recently arrested a thirsty burglar. They said a man burglarized a home in the 11100 block of Temple Avenue in Seminole on June 29. His loot: four Coke Zeros from the refrigerator. Deputies said they later found John Earl Davis, 46, who lives on that street, hiding behind a canoe. Davis was charged with burglary, resisting arrest and prowling.
Man calls 911 during arrest
A homeless man who police were removing from a doctor's office on a trespassing charge had another charge tacked on when he called 911 to complain about the officers.
St. Petersburg police said they were removing Nalvin Troy Lewis from a doctor's office in the 5800 block of 49th Street N on July 7 when he began screaming and demanding to see a doctor. Lewis then called 911 "because he was upset that he was being trespassed, not because an emergency existed," arrest reports state.
Lewis was arrested on charges of misusing 911, disorderly conduct, trespassing and possessing drugs without a prescription.
